3. tanning industry: in hydrolytic decomposition to make raw hide depilated.

5. textile industry: to reduce nitrified objects and man-made fibre:as mordant in dyeing cotton fabric

6. medicine industry:  to make into febrifugal medicine.It is also used to make into sodium thiosulfate, sodium hydrosulphide
